Condition of the Week: Knee, Hip, and Low-Back Pain
Hi there, HealthSource COW-munity
This week’s Condition of the Week (COW) is Knee, Hip, and Low-Back Pain — something most families deal with every year, often for far too long.
What is Knee, Hip, & Low-Back Pain Damage?
Knee, Hip and Low-Back Pain are common issues that disrupt mobility and daily life. These problems can stem from issues with your feet, injuries, overuse, or conditions like arthritis, muscle imbalances, or poor posture. Weakness or tightness in the muscles supporting these joints can also contribute to ongoing discomfort.
Common signs may include:
• Stiffness or swelling in affected areas
• Difficulty with movement or mobility
• Discomfort that worsens with prolonged sitting, standing, or specific activities.
Did You Know?
Pain in the knees, hips, or lower back often starts at the feet. Poor foot mechanics can disrupt the body's kinetic chain, increasing stress on joints above and leading to chronic pain.
Why it often persists
Knee, hip, and low-back pain often lingers because the root cause is not addressed. When foot mechanics are off, the knees, hips, and spine are forced to compensate with every step. Over time, this added stress combined with compression in the lower back can lead to ongoing pain even when rest or stretching is attempted.
How we approach this at HealthSource
At HealthSource, we focus on natural, non-invasive, corrective care designed to address the why behind the symptoms — not just mask the discomfort.
We take a two-part approach. First, we relieve pressure using spinal decompression therapy with our DocTable, which gently reduces compression on the spine, improves circulation, and supports the body’s natural healing process — often helping patients avoid injections or surgery.
Second, we address the foundation of movement using custom orthotics created with Mojofeet, our advanced 3D foot-scanning technology. By accurately mapping how your feet bear weight and move, we design orthotics that improve alignment from the ground up — reducing stress on the knees, hips, and lower back.
No one should have to live in pain simply because a disc is compressed or the body is forced to compensate.
“After more than two years of knee and low-back pain, I honestly thought running was off the table forever. The combination of custom orthotics and decompression therapy changed everything. The pressure eased, my alignment improved, and I’m walking — and running — without pain for the first time in years.”- Susan
