Eagles revealed at Walk in the Woods nature lecture

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Nature writer Gary Clark reveals the inspiring saga of Eagles throughout the History of the United States on Thursday, February 13, 2014, at 7:30 p.m., at McCullough Junior High School, 3800 S. Panther Creek Drive. This lecture opens spring programming for the Walk in the Woods Nature Lecture Series.

Featuring photography by Kathy Adams Clark, Mr. Clark will share a glimpse of the local population of nesting eagles within the larger context of the bird’s amazing recovery from the brink of extinction. Once endangered, eagles have rebounded to a sustainable population.

“The good news is they seem to be adapting to human habitats,” the naturalist noted. Reaching maturity at five years of age, bald eagles mate for life. The pair builds a nest in a tall tree in proximity to food and water.

Majestic symbol of our country, the eagle is “one of our nation’s most precious resources,” Mr. Clark said. Enjoy an evening dedicated to eagles, their natural history, habits and triumphs.
