THE WOODLANDS, Texas - The Texas Academy of Dance Arts (TADA) is proud to announce it will be showcasing its dancers in its first ever holiday production of The Nutcracker Ballet.

Attend the Nutcracker Soirée and enjoy a Land of Sweets meal with the cast

The event will take place on Sunday, November 22nd at the Nancy Bock Auditorium, at McCullough Junior High, with shows at 2 pm and 7 pm. Admission tickets are tier priced at $25, $20 and $15 and are available starting today at www.tututix.com.

TADA’s version of this favorite Christmas fairy tale features 60 cast members, ranging in age from 6 to 30, and includes local dancers, as well as professional and pre-professional dancers who are generously donating their time and talent.

“We are so fortunate to have them all, and all of the dancers, young and beyond, are amazing,” says TADA Ballet Director Amy Beatty, who is choreographing the show.

For TADA, which just celebrated its one-year anniversary in September, staging a production of this size is a huge undertaking. Staff, dancers and parent volunteers are working hard to have the choreography, props and costumes ready for opening day.

“We are like a big family working together to create a beautiful production that will bring other families together to share in the Christmas spirit with us, and celebrate the beauty of ballet and the arts,” says TADA owner and director Miss Kristan Ballard.

In advance of the Nutcracker, TADA will also host the Nutcracker Soirée on Friday, November 13th at the Augusta Pines Golf Club at 6 pm. Children are invited to wear their fanciest Christmas nightgown or holiday attire to enjoy a Land of Sweets meal with the Nutcracker’s starring performers. There will also be a silent auction, raffle, vendors and guest performances. Tickets start at $40 and can be purchased at the link provided below.

“I am so humbled by everyone involved in this project - it’s turning out to be more incredible than I ever imagined for our Eirst year. I can’t wait for everyone to see it!” says Ballard.

In the spirit of holiday giving, TADA has announced that a portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to HOPE – the Will Herndon Research Fund of Beyond Batten Disease Foundation.

TADA is the newest dance studio serving The Woodlands, Oak Ridge North and surrounding communities. It offers a variety of children’s and adult dance classes in ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary and hip hop.
