THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Texas Academy of Dance Arts (TADA) is proud to present a magical new production of the classic holiday tale… The Nutcracker.

With brand new, state-of- the-art choreography, breathtaking couture costuming and under the exquisite direction of former Houston Ballet Soloist, Elise Elliott, this is sure to be a performance you and your family are not soon to forget! TADA is also pleased to announce that a portion of the proceeds from The Nutcracker are donated each year to Hope – The Will Herndon Fund for Juvenile Batten’s Disease Research.

The show will take place on Sunday, December 10th at the College Park High School Theater, with shows at 2 pm and 6 pm. Admission tickets are tier priced at $25, $18 and $10 and are available at www.tututix.com.

This holiday favorite promises to be an amazing mixture of young talent to professionals who are generously donating their time and talent to the production. TADA is thrilled to have such amazing guest artists as Ballet San Antonio Principal Dancer Sally Turkel and Ballet San Antonio Corps de Ballet Dancer Michael Agudelo, as well as local Houston guest artists Eric Glenn and Wesley Cordova grace our stage. The show will also be featuring TADA’s Youth Ballet Company and dancers from TADA’s Ballet Program.

“I am so looking forward to audiences seeing TADA’s brand new production of The Nutcracker! From the Tiny Mice to the Snow Queen, the dancers have put in so much time and dedication to this new show… it is going to be beautiful! I couldn’t be more proud of TADA’s Youth Ballet Company and the dancers in our growing Ballet Program!” says Elliott, TADA’s Director of Ballet.

TADA’s Nutcracker will be a traditional version of the fairy tale staring Clara and her beloved Nutcracker toy, which comes alive and sweeps her away to a magical kingdom populated by dolls. The show will also feature the “musical brilliance” of Tchaikovsky’s score.

In the spirit of holiday giving, TADA’s director Miss Kristan Ballard donates a portion of the proceeds from this event each year to HOPE – a local charity dedicated to raising money and awareness of Juvenile Batten Disease. Ballard is determined to Save Will!

"We are so grateful to TADA for choosing to support HOPE and Batten disease research to help save Will and all children affected with this disease. Just a little over eight years ago, no one had heard of this rare, fatal condition. Thanks to incredible organizations like TADA, benefitting events like the Nutcracker production and our amazing community, since 2009, we have raised more than $3.5 million dollars,” says Missy Herndon, Will Herndon's Mom and founder, HOPE- The Will Herndon a Research Fund.

In addition to giving to HOPE, Ballard has also decided to give away free dance lessons to two lucky children this holiday season! Enter the TADA Nutcracker Raffle for a chance to win a FREE 12 month Unlimited TADA Dance Class Tuition for one lucky child (up to a $3,800 value) or a FREE 6 month Unlimited TADA Dance Class Tuition to another!
