THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The financial advisory firm of United Capital in The Woodlands (formerly Ellis & Ellis) has recently presented a $5,500 donation to Family Promise of Montgomery County through the firm’s Help4Hearts campaign.

The Help4Hearts campaign challenges each United Capital office across the country to nominate a local charity for the chance to be awarded a grant. United Capital in The Woodlands was able to donate $250 to Family Promise for every new client meeting they had in the fourth quarter of 2016.

Family Promise of Montgomery County is a faith-based non-profit organization that supports families who are experiencing homelessness as they search for new jobs, undergo job training and obtain permanent housing.

“We chose Family Promise as the charity recipient of our 2016 Help4Hearts campaign because we believe in the important services they provide to help support and stabilize homeless families in our community,” said Stephen Bauer, CFP, CRPC, Wealth Advisor with United Capital. “Through their ninety-day program, they help these families take the necessary steps to become independent and self-sufficient. As a truly worthy organization, we are proud of Family Promise’s work as they have turned the lives around of so many children and their parents who are struggling with the crisis of homelessness.”

Last year the firm took first place in the 2015 campaign for which it donated funds to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of The Woodlands.

Byron W. Ellis, CFP, CLU, ChFC, CRPC, Managing Director and Wealth Adviser of United Capital in The Woodlands, added, “Our firm has always believed in giving back and supporting our community. Through United Capital’s Help4Hearts campaign, we are able to strengthen our gifting to many deserving local charities.”
