THE WOODLANDS, TX—A week removed from handing Conroe their first victory of the season, the College Park Cavaliers will host the Montgomery Bears in a game the Cavs are desperate to win as Lonnie Madison searches for his first District 12-6A victory as College Park Head Coach.

Five weeks in a row the Cavaliers have seen themselves on the opposite side of victory. This week they play host to a tough Montgomery team lead by senior quarterback Jordan Hood. Hood has accounted for almost 1500 yards with 14 touchdowns. The Cavaliers will have running back Travis Washburn carrying the load for Madison’s offense. The senior leads the team in all-purpose yards by lining up at multiple positions on the field. While only scoring 23 points in four district games, Cavalier quarterback Jake Hunnicutt will have Washburn, Peyton Sobosle, and Roger Younger to throw the ball to, and try to get up with a high-scoring Montgomery team.

Defensive captain Austin Fox and the Cavs defense will have to create pressure for Hood and contain him in the pocket as well. The College Park defense has experience against dual-threat quarterbacks, so the matchup against Hood should look familiar to the Cavaliers.

While both teams are on the outside looking in, Montgomery is still in good position with three games left to try to sneak past West Brook for the fourth and final playoff spot. Sitting at 0-4, and last place in the district, the post-season window for the Cavs is rapidly closing.

The College Park Cavaliers will host the Montgomery Tigers in a Saturday night matchup at Woodforest at 6:00 p.m. The Cavaliers will be looking for their first district win of the season, while Montgomery is eager to stay alive in the playoff race.
