Man arrested in Shenandoah for felony possession of items of identifying information

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- At approximately 12:32 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, Shenandoah Police received information via a phone call to the Shenandoah Police Department in reference to a suspicious man looking inside vehicles parked at the Mi Rancho restaurant located at 19189 Interstate 45 South in Shenandoah, Texas.

Officer Larry Collins responded with Officer Kevin Frantz to Mi Rancho and made contact with the man, who a witness told police was looking into the interior of vehicles. The officers investigated the man and developed probable cause to search the man’s vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, officers discovered property and Identifying Information from a previous Burglary of Motor Vehicle case reported in Shenandoah on the 12th of January.

Officers arrested the man, identified as Mark Anthony Brooks, and charged him with Possession of Identifying Information, a State Jail Felony. Brooks was then transported and incarcerated in the Montgomery County jail.

Shenandoah Police Chief Raymond M. Shaw commends his officers and reminds everyone to lock, take, and hide their valuables when leaving their vehicle unattended. “If criminals can see it, they are going to try to take it,” said Shaw. “Help your law enforcement officers by protecting yourself and don’t make it easy for criminals to take things you worked hard for.”
