THE WOODLANDS, TX -- According to the Men’s Health Network, men avoid doctor visits and rarely discuss personal health. Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital is hoping education will help change the way men approach their own health care.

Since June is Men’s Health Month, Houston Methodist The Woodlands’ upcoming lecture series will focus on health issues that affect men.

The 3-part series takes an educational approach to men’s health by empowering them with important information about the urgency of health screenings and early warning signs of potential health problems.

Join us at any of the following three events:

Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 10-11 a.m. - Dr. Holly Smith, rheumatology, and Dr. Marc Labbe’, sports medicine and orthopedic surgery, will address ways to manage arthritis and joint pain.

Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 1-2 p.m. - Dr. Apurv Varia, gastroenterology, and Dr. Drew Howard, general surgery, will highlight the importance of Upper and Lower GI Health, including colonoscopies and acid reflux issues.

Tuesday, June 25, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. - Dr. Miguel Mercado, urology, and Dr. Peter Morgan, radiation oncology, will address prostate screenings and advancements in prostate cancer treatments.

Each event offers a great opportunity for the community to meet board-certified specialists and get their questions answered.

All of the events will take place at Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital in the 3rd Floor Conference Center.

Houston Methodist The Woodlands is located at 17201 Interstate 45 S., The Woodlands, Texas 77385.

Refreshments and light bites will be served. Each event is free, but registration is required. Please visit www.houstonmethodist.org/events to register.
