THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Earlier this evening, The Woodlands Township Director Brian Boniface posted to Facebook and announced the following statement:

Effective immediately, I Brian Boniface, am stepping down from my position on The Woodlands Township Board of Directors. Earlier this week, I was notified that I was activated by the US Army Reserves to assist in a humanitarian and disaster relief mission for the next six months, providing aid to areas affected by COVID-19. While this is a challenging time for our community and our nation as a whole, I believe that the board needs to be fully staffed in order to handle the upcoming challenges The Woodlands is facing. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve, what I consider, the greatest community in the world. I want to thank all our residents for your confidence in me and allowing me the opportunity to serve these two terms. I would also like to thank the Township staff, our First Responders, and my fellow Directors. You are at the center of what makes this community great! May God Bless you and keep you safe.
