MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX - Updated COVID-19 graphics as of 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 14 with 308 total positive cases of COVID-19, up 42 cases from the day prior. We can happily say 94 people have recovered from COVID-19 at the time of release of this update.

Information for Small Businesses

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has included the entire state of Texas in its Economic Injury Disaster Declaration and granted access to its Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program, which will provide long-term, low-interest loans to qualifying businesses across the state.

SBA Disaster Assistance

The Texas Comptroller is offering assistance to those businesses that are struggling to pay the full amount of sales taxes they've collected from customers.

For businesses that find themselves in this situation, the Texas Comptroller is offering assistance in the form of short-term payment agreements and, in most instances, waivers of penalties and interest.

TX Comptroller COVID-19 Assistance

Small businesses with fewer than 500 employees are eligible to apply to the Paycheck Protection Program. These include firms that are nonprofits. It also includes sole proprietorships, self-employed individuals, independent contractors, and veteran organizations.

The goal is to help small-business owners and their employees ride out this economic hardship.
