Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Arrests Fugitive for Continuous Abuse of a Child
NEW CANEY, TX -- On February 1, 2020 Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 25600 block of York Court New Caney, Texas in reference to a Family Violence. Deputies met with the victim, a 35 year old Hispanic female, who advised that her husband assaulted her, and left the location prior to the Deputy's arrival. While obtaining the information on scene, Deputies identified several children who witnessed the incident. During an interview concerning the Family Violence they witnessed, one of the children made an outcry that the suspect had sexually abused her for the past 5 years. With the information provided, the On March 12, 2020, Detectives were able to obtain a search warrant on the residence located in the 25600 Block of York Ct, and were able to collect several pieces of evidence that corroborated the child's outcry of sexual abuse. On May 21, 2020 Detectives located the suspect at a Walmart in Montgomery, TX where he was located arrested without incident. The suspect, Jose Osvaldo Cruz, has been charged with Assault hnpeding Breath or Circulation (Family Violence) and Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child.
