Sheriff's Office Investigates Homicide at Woodhollow Drive in Conroe

CONROE, TX -- On Friday June 19, 2020, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting an accidental shooting in the 10320 block of Woodhollow Dr., Conroe Texas. Upon arrival at 6:50 pm. Deputies met with Hector Cantu who advised his girlfriend accidentally shot herself while cleaning a friend's rifle. During the investigation, Hector provided several different conflicting stories of what happened. Due to inconsistencies with the evidence on scene and the conflicting accounts provided by Hector Cantu, he was subsequently arrested and charged with Homicide and Tampering with Evidence. Montgomery County Sheriff s Detectives identified the victim as 20 year old Miranda Freshwater. This is still an active investigation and no further details are available at this time.
