THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Tuesday Night marked the beginning of the 2020 District 13-6A volleyball season. While The Woodlands faced Klein Cain in non-district action, four other teams in the district kicked off the five-week sprint to the playoffs. On night one, Oak Ridge and Grand Oaks showed why they are legit championship contenders.

Oak Ridge 3, Conroe 0

War Eagles win 25-11, 25-18, 25-18.

Oak Ridge (1-0/10-1) picked up a sweep in a dominant performance over the Tigers. The War Eagles did what a contending team should do in a home match against a team they’re favored against, which is control the game from start to finish. After a straightforward win in set 1, Conroe (0-1/5-6) showed that they don’t back down to anyone and impressively took an early lead in set 2. However, the War Eagles showed off their firepower by quickly retaking the lead and controlling the rest of the set and the match.

Strong performances from Madison Hall and Alex Singleton helped lead Oak Ridge to their fifth-straight win. The War Eagles have won 15 of their last 16 sets since their one and only loss this season.
