Montgomery County COVID-19 Update for February 19, 2021

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX – Montgomery County Public Health District, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, would like to remind you - a county wide waitlist for the COVID-19 vaccine is available. Vaccine distribution is scheduled to resume next week with Lone Star Family Clinic giving 2nd doses only to people who received the vaccine January 19-27. People eligible for the vaccine, in Phase 1A or 1B, can sign up here: https://bit.ly/3q4rTrv. After signing up, please watch your email closely over the next few weeks. Invitations to make an appointment will be sent via email when supply is available.

The COVID-19 Call Center, to register those 65 years of age and over without internet access, remains closed today due to recovery from the winter weather. It is expected to resume normal hours on Monday.

Individual hospitals, physicians’ offices and pharmacies may also have vaccines available to eligible populations. Please check their websites for additional information. Today, we can confirm six additional deaths related to COVID-19.

• A man in his 70s, from Montgomery, died in the hospital. He had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.
• A man in his 70s, from Magnolia, died in the hospital. There were no co-morbidities noted in his medical record.
• A man in his 70s, from Conroe, died in the hospital. He had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.
• A man in his 70s, from Porter, died in the hospital. It is unknown if he had co-morbidities.
• A woman in her 80s, from Montgomery, died in the hospital. She had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.
• A woman in her 80s, from Magnolia, died in the hospital. She had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.

We can also confirm:

• TOTAL cases of COVID-19 increased by 983 to 44,060 since last Friday’s (2/12) report. All 983 cases were tested since 2/4/2021.
• ACTIVE cases of COVID-19 decreased by 1,168 to 3,733 since last Friday’s (2/12) report. On Tuesdays and Fridays, we account for additional inactive cases who we have been unable to contact for more than 30 days. Today, we added an additional 1,334 inactive cases.
• 92 county residents are known, as a result of contact investigations, to be in the hospital. Contact investigations have not been initiated on all reported cases.
• 21,240 people have clinically recovered.

The Testing Positivity Rate for Montgomery County is 15% for the 2nd week in a row. This number is updated weekly on Wednesdays.
