THE WOODLANDS, TX — Arts in the Park, hosted by The Woodlands Township took place March 13 at Northshore Park. This free event happens every spring and fall.

Local vendors sold original artwork, including acrylic, oil and watercolor paintings, jewelry, photography, pottery, soy candles, stained glass and more.

Live stage entertainment included Class Act Productions, The Lyric Voice Studio, The Skittles, and Dreamwalker. There was a circus performer in the field as well!

A major part of the event was the Youth Art Contest, which was open to youth of all ages 18 and under. This year’s theme was “Why I love The Woodlands”. Submissions included drawings and paintings of local staples, such as the dragon in Lake Woodlands, and the deer statues that adorn the entrance to The Woodlands.

84 entries were submitted. Each winner had their picture taken with guest judge, Nick Wolda, President of Visit The Woodlands and Director of Community Relations for The Woodlands Township, and Dr. Shelley Sekula-Gibbs, who is on the Board of Directors for The Township.
