College Park 6, Aldine 0

The Cavaliers cruised into the second round with a well-rounded performance against the Mustangs. Four players, Ashley Washburn (2), Taylor Molina (2), Carli Rabson, and Sarah Kelly found the back of the net in the bi-district round win.

Washburn broke the scoreless tie in the 13th minute when she got on the end of a great cross to chest the ball home. 15 minutes later, Kylee Burns stressed the keeper with a shot from distance and Molina pounced on the rebound to put College Park up two goals at halftime.

Rather than sit back on the lead, the Cavs kept their foot on the pedal in the second half. Less than a minute in, Washburn beat the defenders, rounded the keeper, and scored her second goal of the game. In the 44th minute, Rabson got behind the defenders and won her 1v1 with the keeper with a strong, high shot. Molina scored her second of the game in the 52nd minute, once again tapping in a loose ball in front of the net.

The goal of the game came in the 72nd minute when Kelly chipped the keeper from outside the box to complete a great day for College Park.

College Park will go on to face Klein Cain in the area round.

Oak Ridge 1, MacArthur 1 (OR Wins 4-3 in PKs)

A few weeks ago, penalty kicks clinched a playoff spot for the War Eagles. On Friday, PKs sent the War Eagles through to the next round. Belinda Alvarez was the goalscorer in regulation for Oak Ridge.

The War Eagles will meet Tomball in the area round.

The season came to an end for the district 13-6A runner-ups. The Tigers finished the season with a 12-4-4 record.
