THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Hot rods, classics and modern muscle cars all came out to Milstead Collision on Saturday to help raise money for Meals on Wheels Montgomery County. Through entry fees, food and raffle tickets, Milstead Automotive and Milstead Collision raised $2,000 for the organization.

The Milstead companies matched the proceeds with a donation to give MOWMC a total of $4,000.

'We're so glad we were able to raise this money for Meals on Wheels,' Amy Milstead, Milstead Automotive and Milstead Collision President said. 'The organization does so much for our senior population. We're just thankful to get to do this for them.'

MOWMC is a non-profit that provides home-bound seniors in the area with nutritious meals that they otherwise would not have access to. The organization serves more than 700 seniors. Meals are delivered by volunteers and also serve as safety checks and social visits for the seniors.

“We are incredibly grateful for the support Milstead Automotive continues to give to our community,' MOWMC President and CEO Summer Day said. 'The demand for senior services in Montgomery County has drastically increased since last March. On average, we receive 100 phone calls per month requesting assistance. The partnership with Milstead Automotive helps meet that need by raising awareness and contributions that go directly to nourishing our growing senior population.”

At the 2021 Milstead Car Show, 37 show cars were entered in the show. DRT Cookers served pulled pork BBQ sandwiches. Raffle tickets were sold and a fire pit, Amazon echo, gift baskets and more were raffled off.

'We had a good turnout for the show,' Milstead Automotive General Manager Jeff Collins said. 'This was the biggest show we've had so far. I'm looking forward to the next one.'

The sponsors for the 2021 Milstead Car Show benefitting MOWMC include A Bob Hall Company, XL Parts, Advanced Auto Parts, O'Reilly's Auto Parts, Proven Results Marketing, Gulf Coast Pros LLC, Pimp Your Yard, Bulldogs Pizza and Rainbow Car Care.

'We're thankful to all of our volunteers and sponsors who made the car show possible,' Marketing Coordinator Caitlin Wills said. 'We can't wait until next year.'
