HS Softball: Grand Oaks Wins Home Opener Against Porter High School

THE WOODLANDS, TX –- Grand Oaks Lady Grizzlies Softball team is back in action on their home field against the visiting Porter Spartans. Coming off an overall record of 11-7 last season, the Lady Grizzlies look to improve from last year. Still being a young team, Grand Oaks as a whole has showcased its ability to keep up with the power houses of district 13-6A.

Although a little slow in pre-season, each team is knocking off the rust and oiling up their gears for the upcoming district. This will be the last year for the same 6 teams in district 13-6A due to a realignment from the UIL. New Caney, Caney Creek and Cleveland will be the new teams introduced to the district making it more difficult to be in the top 4 for playoffs.

After 6 innings of play against the Porter Spartans, Grand Oaks hits some tanks to take the win in their Home Opener. Just a couple more tournaments and scrimmages and the official district season will start. Grand Oaks looks to make a huge playoff run with new seniors and new upcoming players. Final Score against Porter High School was 10-1.
