HS Softball: Grand Oaks Wins at Home; Sweeps Battle of the Oaks Series

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Grand Oaks Grizzlies hosted the Oak Ridge Lady War Eagles in the second installment of the Battle of the Oaks on Tuesday night. In their first meet up, Grand Oaks took the win 3-0 so Oak Ridge looks to tie up the series.

Katie Torres was the pitcher for Grand Oaks while Savanna Conway was in the circle for Oak Ridge. In the top of the first Oak Ridge would get things going with a double rbi and quickly took the lead 1-0. Grand Oaks was able to retire the side without any other runs batted in but would start off the bottom of the first down.

Grand Oaks would go on a rally in the bottom of the first. Starting it off with a single RBI to tie up the game and a pitching error to home which would bring another one in. They would lead going into the top of the second 2-1.

The rest of the game would be a pitching and defensive battle. Each team would load the bases but would be retired before any runs would cross over the plate.

Grand Oaks would hold off Oak Ridge and take win 2-1. They would also sweep the Battle of the Oaks series.

Oak Ridge will face Cleveland at home while Grand Oaks takes on New Caney on the road later this week.
