THE WOODLANDS, TX – Once again, we wake up on a Monday morning hoping for autumn to finally kick in full force. While we’re on a general trend toward fall season weather, the temps are still definitely summerlike, at least for most of the week.

Seasonal temps, frisky winds, and cloud-dotted skies make for outdoor fun

Monday will continue to warm up even as the winds increase. Early afternoon we’ll hit our high of 88 – along with strengthening winds out of the southeast – before both thermometer and wind gauge drop. Near-zero cloud coverage will keep the sun bright and the UV rays at full force, so if you’re outside playing around on this bank-and-school holiday, grab the SPF. Temps tonight will get all the way down to 60.

On Tuesday, we’ll see some slightly cooler temperatures – with the high only hitting 87 – and another surge in winds as a few clouds move in. Again, it’ll be early to mid afternoon until the temperature starts dropping, and with it the clouds. Overnight there will be a respite in coverage if you’re a night-owl stargazer as the low hits 65.

Wednesday will see a lot more clouds and a 15 percent chance of rain. The clouds and mugginess will add to the temps, bringing them over 90 for the first time this week. Even the winds will keep muted today as the clouds linger and he hit our overnight low of 66.

Thursday and Friday will basically be clones of each other, with sunny skies marred by the occasional lone cloud, and high temperatures that waver between upper 80s and low 90s and lows that will jockey for positions in the lower 60s and upper 50s. The only difference between the two days of note will be the winds, which will be brisk on Thursday but basically gone on Friday.

This might be a good week to mow the lawns before possible rains start brewing as the new work week begins next week…

Stay tuned on Friday as we bring you Woodlands Weekend Weather.
