THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Grand Oaks is hosting a tournament this weekend with a couple of teams, of which is Waller who took out Dekaney prior to facing Grand Oaks in the final game of the night.

In the bottom of the first Grand Oaks was able to pop off a couple of hits to bring in two runs quickly making it 2-0. Waller however was quick to retire the side before any more damage could be made to the score board.

As the pitching battle continued, it was Wallers turn to rally in the top of the next inning. With some huge shots in the outfield including an RBI triple, Waller was able to also bring in two runs, tying the game and putting pressure on the Grand Oaks batters.

In the bottom of the fifth, Grand Oaks found themselves with the bases juiced but Waller was able to strike out, retire, and keep the runners stranded on the bases. Grand Oaks made a couple of hits and was able to get on base with a couple of errors but couldn’t cross the home plate.

Larry Drake was able to hit a bomb out of left field giving the Grizzlies the 3-2 lead heading into the final inning. But Waller came out in the top of the 7th with a run due to an error at third base. This would essentially end the game with a tie, 3-3.

Grand Oaks will continue their tournament and start district play next week by facing College Park on the road.
