THE WOODLANDS, TX – Founded in 2005, New Danville serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and those needing similar services, in a rural environment promoting dignity, respect, and the opportunity to live enriched and purposeful lives. One of their annual events designed to raise funds and awareness is coming to near and soon: Spring Thing 2023 is hitting The Woodlands Resort on Friday, April 28, starting at 10:30 a.m.

Musician Rory Feek will headline event

Spring Thing brings together the best of what makes New Danville a great place for special needs adults to live, learn, work and grow to their potential. Start your morning by shopping in the Market for items made with the assistance of New Danville Wranglers (clients), as well as select items from Jazzy Junque, the nonprofit organization’s upscale resale store; meet Wranglers and staff members, too. Enjoy cocktails before lunch where you’ll meet honorees and enjoy the special keynote speaker, Rory Feek.

Feek is a singer-songwriter, storyteller, filmmaker, author and blogger. Most importantly to Rory is his role as father. His special needs daughter, Indiana, is the inspiration for much of what he does, including writing the best-selling book, This Life I Live. A Grammy-award winner, as part of Joey+Rory, he has written several hit songs, like “Some Beach,” sung by Blake Shelton. Rory is sure to provide wisdom, insights and love in his presentation.

This year’s event honors the Lynne and Steve Charbonneau family. The family’s commitment to New Danville is exemplary. Their company, Charbonneau Industries, is a modern master distributor of pipeline products and services. They developed their “Pallets to Partners” program, providing Wranglers with jobs assembling pallets for the company. The family also donated the construction of a building at New Danville for pallet work and more.

Your purchases directly fund programs at New Danville. Individual/group tickets and sponsorships are still available. More information can be found, and tickets can be purchased, at https://www.woodlandsonline.com/evps/evitem.cfm?evid=168725.
