VARSITY TENNIS

Coach Jill Del Rio: This year the boys had one main focus that was consistent throughout the season, and it was winning back-to-back 4-A SPC Tennis Championships. The boys’ focus and determination this weekend were unlike any I had ever seen before. They were dialed in and showed their commitment and talent with a sweep in the championships. Go Dragons!!

Coach Scott Holland: It was a great weekend at the Championship Meet:

• Nico Signorelli again shined on the Pole Vault Pit, winning the competition by over two feet. Nico broke his own School Record and set a new SPC Meet Record with a vault of 15’ 5”.

• Milla Signorelli also claimed an SPC Title in the Pole Vault.

• Gus Feinberg also was an event winner, clearing 6’2” in the high jump.

• Amir Rizvi earned two ALL SPC Medals with his finish in the 300m Hurdles and 4X400m relay.

• Sienna Williams also earned two ALL SPC Medals in the 100m Hurdles & 300m Hurdles. That finish in the 300m Hurdles reset her own school record.

• Santiago Fernandez Villarreal earned ALL SPC Medals in Pole Vault and 4X400m Relay.

VARSITY BASEBALL

4/21 vs Tomball Kings • 7-5 W

Coach Mike Williams: I was very proud of how our boys battled adversity this year. We got hit with the injury bug multiple times, but players would step up and I couldn’t be prouder of their effort. We battled all year in every game and made a little noise in the SPC tournament this year and hope to be back in the final four again next year.

VARSITY SOFTBALL

4/24 vs HCYA • 3-2 W

Coach Nicole Hedden: Both teams were strong in the circle, with winning pitcher Cameron Patterson coming out on top. Patterson lasted seven innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out four. Grace Minarovic singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. Minarovic, Madison Rogers, Leah Ruckman, and Patterson each managed one hit.

4/27-29 at SPC CHAMPIONSHIPS • SPC 3-A runner up

opening vs Duchesne • 19-5 W

Coach Nicole Hedden: Maggie Flinn drove in five runs on two hits to lead Cooper. She drove in runs on a walk in the first, a double in the second, a single in the third, and a walk in the fourth. Cooper gathered six runs in the big second inning, thanks to Ella Howard, Maggie Flinn and Cameron Patterson, whose homer brought in three runs. Madison Rogers also a four-bagger in the

second inning. Patterson had a dinger in the first inning. Cooper stacked up six hits with Patterson and Flinn each managing two hits to lead the Dragons. Grace Minarovic pitched the win, lasting five innings, allowing two hits and five runs while striking out seven.

Semifinal vs Casady • 8-4 W

Coach Nicole Hedden: The Dragons fired up the offense in the first inning, scoring one run when Cameron Patterson doubled in the first inning. Grace Minarovic went yard in the first inning. Patterson pitched the Dragons to victory as she went seven innings, allowing four runs on seven hits and striking out six. The dragons had ten hits in the game–Minarovic, Patterson and Maggie Flinn each had multiple hits.

Championship game vs. Fort Worth Country Day • 6-0 L

Coach Nicole Hedden: Cameron Patterson, the righthander, lasted six innings, allowing six hits and six runs while striking out seven. On the season, Patterson killed it, pitching in 90 innings and having 100 strikeouts the season. Sydney Kelly, Madison Rogers, and Maggie Flinn all had one hit to lead Cooper Dragons.

We didn’t get the desired outcome, but we had a great season. I can’t put into words how proud we are of this group of young ladies.

VARSITY GOLF

4/24-25 boys at SPC CHAMPIONSHIPS • SPC 5th Place Finish

at Ridglea Country Club, Fort Worth

Coach Rod Gold: Dragon Boys Varsity Golf had a successful season, capping it with a fifth place finish at the SPC Championships at Ridglea Country Club in Fort Worth, TX

• Henry Wing displayed solid golf for two days, shooting 79-82 for a 2-day total of 161, earning All-SPC honors.

• Elias Boles finished 11th place medalist, shooting (79-86=185).

• Jack Teague shot (84-85=169).

• Also scoring for Cooper was Graham Dunlop (90-91=181).

I am extremely proud of the way our guys handled themselves all season. We are a young team and the experience we gained from this season as well as the SPC Championships will no doubt pay dividends in the coming years. I look forward to seeing our guys continue to grow and come back next year and put up some impressive scores.
