HS Baseball Playoffs: College Park Shuts out Spring; Grand Oaks, The Woodlands and Oak Ridge Move on
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Bi-District playoffs kicked off for College Park and Oak Ridge who decided to do a one game series on Friday Night. The Woodlands, and Grand Oaks are in their second game of their series in which both of them won their first game.
College Park vs Spring
With Connor Judge on the mound to start off for College Park, Spring had a difficult time getting hits off the power pitcher. Before getting pulled Judge was able to strike out 12 batters with just a couple hits.
College Park lit up the field in the bottom of the sixth with multiple bases stolen, RBIs and hits into the outfield. An error at first started it all off as two runs score for College Park.
Spring pulled two pitchers before the inning was over and College Park scored seven more runs. Austin Wilkerson for Spring was able to finally retire the side without any other runners passed over home base.
College Park would shut out Spring 8-0 and move on to the Area round.
Oak Ridge vs Dekaney
Like College Park, Oak Ridge also decided to do a one game series against Dekaney in which they were able to pull off the win. The bi-district champions took the win 13-0 and move on to the Area round next week.
The Woodlands vs MacArthur
Starting May 4th, The Woodlands would host MacArthur in a best of three series to determine who would move on and who would end their season. In the first nail biting game, The Woodlands was able to sprint a runner in at the last second to win the game 1-0.
In their second game The Woodlands would also win on the road against the tough MacArthur team, 6-0. They also advance to the Area round next week.
Grand Oaks vs Aldine
Also like The Woodlands, Grand Oaks started their three-game series against Aldine on Thursday the 4th. With a 5-0 win they would sit comfortable in their second game at home. On Friday night they would take the win 5-0 and join the rest of the 13-6A district finalist in the Area round.
