THE WOODLANDS, Texas-- Coming off a non-district loss to Brenham, the College Park Cavaliers look to get back on track Tuesday night against district rival Oak Ridge.

Both teams are familiar with having multiple Division 1 college athletes on their teams and the 2018 season won’t be much different. College Park started off with Luke Repka (Sam Houston State University) and Luke Trahan (Dallas Baptist University) signing their national letter of intent back in November. While Oak Ridge had four sign on the same day with Kyle and Kevin Conley (New Mexico), Chase Roberts (Texas), and Austin Brown (Cedarville). As the season continues, more athletes from both teams will sign their commitments as well.

Leading College Park over be years has been head coach Jason Washburn. Since opening in 2006, Washburn has led the Cavaliers to multiple winning seasons and has even seen some of his alumni make it to the pros. But Washburn’s likely favorite season might be 2018 as his son Travis is a senior captain for the Cavaliers. While Travis Washburn has already committed to play baseball for Lamar University, the four-year letterman is looking to help the Cavaliers make a run in the UIL State Tournament in May.

Tuesday’s game will be the first of three matchups between the two rivals this season and will play a huge factor on which teams make it into the playoffs.
