UPDATE: Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Investigates Homicide in Porter

PORTER, TX -- UPDATE: The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Violent Crimes detectives continue their investigation into the homicide on Forest Sounds Lane from last evening.

Michael Kuykendall was arrested for the murder of his mother, Carol Kuykendall. Michael is currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the friends, family, and neighbors of Ms. Kuykendall.




On May 9, 2023, at about 5:00 pm, deputies responded to the 25200 block of Forest Sounds Lane in Porter for an assault-firearm call. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a deceased 65-year-old female with a gunshot wound.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Violent Crimes Detectives, along with Crime Scene Investigators, responded to the scene and are currently conducting their investigation.

A person of interest has been identified and is being questioned at this time. This appears to be an isolated event and there is no threat to the public.

Pending notification of next of kin, the names of the individuals involved will not be released at this time.

This is an active investigation and no further information is available for release.
