Stage 2 Of Drought Contingency Plan Has Been Implemented

CONROE, TX -- According to Chapter 70, Article VIII of the City of Conroe Code of Ordinances, due to ongoing drought conditions combined with a reduced rate of production of a groundwater well in the northwest quadrant of the City of Conroe, the City Administrator, Gary Scott is implementing Stage 2 of the City’s Drought Contingency Plan.

The Drought Contingency Plan Stage 2 is being initiated within the following boundaries, including all water service connections within but not limited to:
1. South of FM 1097.
2. West of the Union Pacific RR Tracks.
3. North of Loop 336.
4. West of I-45.
5. North of FM 2854.
6. East of Sapp Road, continuing North back to FM 1097.

The City Administrator is also implementing Stage 1 of the Drought Contingency Plan for the rest of the City.

The City’s website, cityofconroe.org provides detailed water conservation information, including an information graphic with descriptions for each stage of the Drought Contingency Plan.
