THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Oak Ridge High School Robotics team placed third in the UIL BEST of Texas Robotics competition in Dallas.

BEST is a six-week competition held each fall, designed to help interest middle and high school students in possible engineering careers. These cover different aspects of the engineering industry, such as marketing, engineering design, public relations, business management, programming, and more.

Oak Ridge Robotics was the runner-up at the North Houston Invitational, then made its strong showing with its second runner-up finish at the statewide competition. The group has over 40 active members and hopes to continue to grow the program by teaching students the valuable skills of problem solving, teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking.

BEST of Texas Robotics is on a mission to ignite the passion for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) in the hearts and minds of middle and high school students. They firmly believe the future belongs to those who can harness the power of these disciplines and are committed to making learning in these areas exciting, accessible, and fun.
