THE WOODLANDS, TX – Interfaith of The Woodlands recently announced that the 2024 Celebration of Excellence Gala will be presented by Woodforest National Bank, and chaired by Julie and Scott Lile. The milestone anniversary event, celebrating 50 years of caring and 25 years of Hometown Heroes, will be held April 20 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center. In keeping with tradition, the gala will honor this year’s Hometown Heroes, consisting of residents and businesses or institutions whose leadership and commitment to serving others exemplifies true heroism.

“We are honored Woodforest National Bank has generously offered to be the presenting sponsor for this historic event that recognizes outstanding volunteers whose leadership and unwavering dedication to our community have positively impacted many lives,” said Missy Herndon, President and CEO of Interfaith of The Woodlands.

Raised in The Woodlands, Julie’s love for Interfaith goes back to her school-age years. Now, as long-time residents of the community, they are raising their children Jake and Gracie instilling the legacy of caring for others and giving back. Julie serves as Leadership of Events on the Development Board and Scott is approaching his 30-year anniversary with Merrill Lynch of The Woodlands. Scott and Julie also serve together on The Woodlands Methodist Church Administrative Board, and have committed steadfast support to HOPE, The Will Herndon Research Fund. You’ll often find the Lile family organizing neighborhood food drives and volunteering with Interfaith’s Food Pantry, collecting for and contributing to Holiday GIVING programs, and volunteering for Interfaith’s Community-Wide Day of Caring.

“Every Gala is successful thanks to the leadership, and we are grateful long-time volunteers and donors Scott and Julie Lile agreed to chair this monumental occasion. Their hearts to serve our community and dedication to Interfaith, is apparent in every action and gift,” shared Missy Herndon.
