Women Empowering Women Luncheon Celebrates its 10th Anniversary
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The 10th Annual Women Empowering Women event, presented by Waste Connections, will be held on February 6th and 7th. This two-day event will feature a luncheon and shopping experience at the stunning The Peach Orchard event venue. The first day will feature an awards luncheon and VIP Philanthropy Market. Guests who attend this event will also receive a Market Ticket to the community shopping event, which will be held the following day. The event chairs for the 2023 Luncheon are Dr. Adrienne Blessing and Dr. Emily Liska.
The Women Empowering Women Event is the only fundraiser for the Interfaith Community Clinic, the only charity clinic serving the medical, dental and behavioral health needs of our uninsured residents of Montgomery County. The event has evolved from a luncheon featuring a keynote speaker to this year’s modern “Philanthropy Market” and Awards luncheon honoring women in Healthcare.
Doors will open for guests on February 6, 2024, at 10:30 AM to shop for a cause at our VIP Philanthropy Market, which offers a curated shopping experience with some of the best and unique local shops Montgomery County has to offer, with a portion of proceeds being donated back to the Clinic. Guests will then enjoy a delicious lunch featured by TRIS, learn about the amazing work of the Interfaith Community Clinic, honor inspirational women in healthcare, and hear patients’ stories. The Philanthropy Market will reopen after the luncheon for guests to complete purchases or pick up any items that were being held for them.
“For 27 years, the Community Clinic, supported by all of our local hospital systems has ensured healthcare access for all. We believe that everyone should have a place to turn during their time of need. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we are able to continue to treat chronic conditions and illness,” shared Missy Herndon, President, and CEO of Interfaith Community Clinic.
Proceeds from the Women Empowering Women Luncheon benefit Interfaith Community Clinic, the only charity clinic serving all of Montgomery County. The Community Clinic opened its doors in 1996 to meet the medical needs of the uninsured population. As the needs of the community have grown, so have the services offered at the clinic. Today, the clinic continues to provide quality basic medical and dental care, counseling and patient services to individuals in need. A volunteer staff of licensed physicians, nurses, medical providers, dentists, dental assistants, dental hygienists, as well as translators and support personnel work together to provide patient care. Programs are provided free of charge and are funded by the generous financial support of grants, faith-based organizations, businesses, civic groups, and individuals.
