Angel Reach receives $100,000 donation from Waste Connections Golf Classic for Kids.
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Angel Reach, the Montgomery County nonprofit focused on meeting the needs of youth who have aged out of the foster care system and those living with relatives in kinship homes, is the beneficiary of a $100,000 donation from the Waste Connection Golf Classic for Kids. The funds will go towards construction and operation of transitional living facilities, meals, counseling, education, transportation, advising and other programs to help abused and neglected children.
“According to statistics we receive from Conroe Independent School District, nearly 1,100 children are identified as homeless, and there are more and more each year living in foster care and kinship homes,” said Dan Alexander, Angel Reach Chief Executive Officer. “It puts them at extreme risk for life-long poverty, substance abuse, time in jail and homelessness. A donation like this is significant for giving them more of a fighting chance and, for that, we are extremely grateful.”
This year’s tournament raised over $1 million to support organizations like Angel Reach that focus on impacting the lives of at-risk children and youth.
“For the past several years, our vendors, employees, and volunteers have come together to support this event, raising essential funds for numerous worthwhile organizations. We are deeply grateful for their ongoing generosity and humbled by the positive impact this tournament has had on the lives of countless children and families throughout Montgomery County,” shared Michelle Little, Vice President Community Affairs and Corporate Giving of Waste Connections.
Angel Reach depends on the generosity and support of individual and corporate donors, and offers a wide range of financial and volunteer opportunities for community support. To find out more, visit the website at www.AngelReach.org.
