THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Woodlands Christian Academy (TWCA) recently welcomed back Austin Baker (Class of 2017) and Zach Baker (Class of 2018) — brothers, alumni, and former Warrior baseball players — who recently returned to campus to help renovate seating at the school’s baseball field. This time, instead of playing on the field, they’re improving it for the next generation.

The Baker brothers, now co-owners of A-Z Construction Services, have been hard at work replacing the rotting deck boards under the backstop seating with durable composite materials. Their upgrade ensures the seating will last for many seasons and enhances the experience for both players and fans.

“It’s nice. It feels really good. We’re giving back and helping improve the facilities, which is really cool,” Austin shared. “The whole campus has changed a lot since we’ve been here. So it feels like we’re a part of that improvement.”

Austin and Zach grew up learning the values of hard work from their dad who owned a construction company. And, the perseverance needed to be entrepreneurs while student-athletes at TWCA. After graduation, they played football at Earlham College before returning to Texas, where they worked alongside their father and he taught them everything they needed to know about the industry.

Following their father’s passing in 2021, the brothers founded A-Z Construction Services and built it from the ground up, drawing on their dad's lessons in hard work and the community building they learned at TWCA.

That community building continued through TWCA connections after graduation when they met Baseball Head Coach Brett Cleveland in 2021.

“I met them at an alumni social, and they told me about their construction company. Then, I ran into them again at the Gala two years ago and told them if we had any work at the school, I would give their company a chance to win the job,” Cleveland shared. “This opportunity came up at the baseball field, and they won the job and have done great work.”

Their return to campus is more than just a job; it’s a full-circle moment. The Baker brothers embody the spirit of giving back and demonstrate how TWCA’s influence extends well beyond graduation — a testament to what it means to be a lifelong member of the Warrior family.
