Julie Ambler Marks 20 Years as Head of School at The Woodlands Christian Academy
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands Christian Academy (TWCA) celebrates the 20th anniversary of Julie Ambler’s leadership as Head of School. Since 2006, Ambler has directed a remarkable period of development, both academically and in campus growth, solidifying TWCA’s reputation as an outstanding Christ-centered, college-preparatory institution.
When Ambler began her tenure, she entered during a time of financial challenge, drawing on her expertise in investment banking and her guiding faith to restore financial health. Within her first year, she oversaw a financial turnaround, establishing practices that have kept the school operating with positive balances every year since. Under her guidance, the school has become debt-free and completed more than $40 million in new building projects.
In addition to these financial milestones, TWCA has grown to serve over 900 students in grades Pre-K4 through 12. Ambler’s vision has supported a rigorous academic program and expanded facilities, preparing graduates for competitive universities and military academies across the nation.
Ambler has also fostered an environment where spiritual development and student well-being are foundational. Through initiatives such as expanded counseling services and faculty mentorship, students are encouraged to grow in character, faith, and service to others.
With two decades of unbroken service, Ambler's leadership stands out in the field of independent education, where the typical tenure for heads of school in Texas and nationwide typically falls between five and seven years. Her long-term commitment has brought rare stability and continuity to TWCA, contributing to its strong community and educational excellence.
Julie Ambler’s enduring leadership continues to shape TWCA’s vision of educating students to become Christ-centered, purposeful leaders in all areas of life.
