More than 18,000 Montgomery County voters turned out on day one of early voting

THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Montgomery County Elections Commission has reported that an excess of 18,000 county residents cast their ballots on the first day of early voting for the November 3 General Election yesterday.

Between the ten early voting polling locations, ballots received by mail to date, and limited votes cast, a total of 18,837 voters exercised their civic rights and duties. In comparison, well over 20,000 county residents cast their votes on the first day of early voting in the 2024 presidential election.

“Limited votes” are cast by registered voters who have moved from the county in which they are registered to a new county of residence in Texas, and who will not be registered to vote in the new county on or before November 3. A total of 11 limited votes were counted by the commission.

Of Montgomery County’s estimated 781,194 residents, approximately 461,000 are registered to vote, meaning roughly four percent of voters came out on the first day of voting.

Early voting continues through Friday, October 30. Polls are open this week through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Saturday, October 24 from 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., Sunday, October 25 from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., and next week Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
