Surely, you may have had to call the services of an air conditioning repair service company, but did you know that there are things we can do to prevent these problems?

Here at TCS AC & Heating, we do not only install and repair AC systems, we also help our customers learn what we do to maintain them. Today, we will share with you some tips on how to we can prevent the most common AC problems

Refrigerant
The most common problem if an AC is not cooling is the refrigerant. This is a compound that consistently turns to gas then back to liquid. As this cycle goes on and on, a lot of the refrigerant evaporates, and there will come a time when you need to have this replaced.

What many clients do not know is that the refrigerant evaporates faster if the coils have leaks. It does not make sense to keep on refilling the refrigerant, as they will just keep on leaking. Our technicians are experienced enough to find these leaks, and fix the coils.

Blower Fans
The AC system has blower fans that blow the air into your house, and fans that suck the hot air from your house. If one of these fans are not working properly, your AC system is not going to operate at its optimal capacity.

The causes of fan problems are different. It can be a motor issue, and it can be a lubrication problem. Our technicians know how to diagnose this, and this is why you will see them open the AC system’s housing. They have to determine which fans are not working.

Do not take this problem for granted, as it can damage your compressor. And if it does, you are better off buying a new unit than having it serviced.

Condenser coils
The condenser coils are the copper coils found outside the house along with the motor and the blowers. The condenser coil is responsible for taking the heat outside. Your home has hot air, and this hot air passes through the condenser coils and the fan blows it out.

The thing is, condenser coils can get covered with soot and grime. If this happens, it is not going to work properly. The hot air is going to be trapped inside, and your AC will not cool the air inside your house or office.

The only way to solve this problem is for us to dismantle the outside unit, and then clean it with water. This is why we have pressure hoses. The jet of water pushes away the soot and grime without damaging the coils.

Evaporator coils
These are the coils found in the unit inside the hours. The evaporator coils are responsible for absorbing the heat from inside your house. The evaporator coil needs warm air to work properly. The problem usually happens if the coils get too cold.

If ice builds up around the evaporator coils, it will not be able to absorb heat. The heat will come back inside your house. Ice can build up for so many reasons, like dirty air filter, dirty coil, lack of airflow, and low refrigerant.

Our technicians are qualified to diagnose the root cause, and then fix it. We will not just tell you to replace it as it is a waste of money.

As you search Google for “AC companies near me”, make sure that you deal with technicians who have adequate experience, and only work with companies that have great reputation.
