FORT WORTH, TX -- The Caney Creek Panther COED Cheer team took home the UIL state championship Thursday for the first time in program history.

The Panthers took to the floor at 8:11 last night, hoping the team’s performance would outshine the competition. Stiff competitors such as Pearland, Austin Vandegrif, and Azle built a palpable tension for Caney Creek as they began their routine.

The long wait from finishing to finding out the scores and winners lasted an agonizing hour as the judges deliberated.

Meticulous scoring and judging built a palpable tension between all competing teams ahead of the final announcement.

But Caney Creek’s performance and score were well worth the wait. A final score of 98.33 put the team a near full point ahead of second place Pearland.

The score secured Caney Creek’s first coed cheer state championship in program history and established the Panthers as the kings and queens of cheer.

Congratulations to the Caney Creek Panthers on their historic achievement.
