Honoring Strength and Hope: June is National Cancer Survivor Month

Every June, we pause to honor the strength, courage, and resilience of millions of individuals across the nation who have faced a cancer diagnosis. National Cancer Survivor Month is a time to celebrate those who have fought and continue to fight, while also acknowledging the challenges that come with life after treatment.
At Canopy Cancer Survivorship Center, we are privileged to walk alongside survivors, their families, and caregivers—offering support not just this month, but every day of the year. Our mission is grounded in compassionate care and the belief that survivorship is a journey that deserves ongoing attention, healing, and celebration.
What Does It Mean to Be a Cancer Survivor?
A cancer survivor is defined as anyone living with, through, and beyond a cancer diagnosis. Whether someone was just diagnosed or completed treatment years ago, they are a survivor. Today, there are more than 18 million cancer survivors in the United States, each with their own powerful story of healing, perseverance, and hope.
Survivorship doesn’t stop at the last day of treatment—it’s often just the beginning of a new chapter. This journey can bring physical, emotional, and spiritual challenges that aren’t always visible. From managing long-term side effects and navigating emotional wellbeing, to rediscovering purpose and rebuilding confidence, survivors deserve continuous support and care.
