The project was set to begin just before Thanksgiving in 2024. Our project manager, Chris, made sure all roofing materials were on-site and ready to go ahead of time. He also oversaw the timely arrival of the installation crew bright and early on the scheduled day.

Once there, the crew got started on our standard pre-install checklists. This list covers steps such as:

• Laying out tarps to catch shingles, nails, and other roofing materials
• Protecting Rocco’s A/C unit from exposure to falling roof debris
• Providing the same kind of protection measures for his pool
• Protecting all exposed sections of the adjoining properties

“The roofing materials were delivered to my home one day prior to the installation. Chris Doyle, the project manager, scheduled the time before the Thanksgiving Holidays. His crew was punctual and arrived at 7 AM. They immediately started to cover my pool, my outside A/C units, and those of my neighbors. They also laid out tarps to catch any falling tiles, nails, and debris.”

Installing His New Woodlands-Area Roof

Rocco continues his account with the installation itself. Several things stood out to him during this crucial phase.

For starters, Chris remained on-site throughout the process.

While there, he oversaw every aspect of his crew’s performance. He also ensured that all their work was documented properly via detailed photos.

Soon, the old roofing materials were removed. During this phase, we uncovered several spots where the underlying plywood decking had broken down. The damaged sections were replaced, and a waterproof barrier was applied throughout.

“Chris was here throughout the entire time to provide oversight to his crew and to photo-document all aspects of the roof replacement. The men worked very efficiently and tirelessly to remove all the old… [materials] from the roof… They identified a few areas where the wood that supports the [shingles] had deteriorated. They replaced [them] and continued to cover the entire area with a waterproof barrier.”

Next, it was time to install the new roofing materials and reinstall the roof’s ridge vents, which were still in good condition. The Blue Truss crew also painted the plumbing vents to match their updated surroundings.

Along the way, we kept him well-informed on how the work was going.

By the end of the day, the installation was complete. Rocco was impressed with the speed and efficiency of the process. He was also impressed by our thorough clean-up procedures.

“In a very sequential fashion, they covered the roof with the new [materials], reinstalled the ridge vents, and painted all the pipes that exited the roof. As dusk approached, the crew spent time cleaning up the large debris that was a result of cutting shingles to fit the geometry of the roof… Throughout the day, [Chris] gave me updates as to the progress they were making and [asked] if I had anything that needed to be addressed.”

But same-day services aren’t all we provide at Blue Truss. The next day, Chris returned to Rocco’s home with a follow-up crew that went over the grounds once again for anything we might have missed.

Chris took the same steps for the roof itself.

His goal? Finding and correcting minor issues that could leave us short of our goal of impeccable final results.

After all such issues were addressed, Chris gave Rocco our Certificate of Completion for a job well done. He also made sure Rocco knew how to correctly file all his follow-up paperwork.

“The next day, Chris came early with a skeleton crew. They did the final check on the roof and addressed anything that could have been overlooked. They were very attentive to all aspects of the cleanup. They used a magnetic pole to pick up any stray nails around my property and pool. They even scrubbed my concrete driveway of some incidental scuff marks that were left from falling tiles… Chris provided me with all the photo documentation of the entire project. He gave me a Certificate of Completion and…assured me that all the warranty information should come in a few weeks.”
