THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Drawing upon the talents of their award-winning Rockin' Railroad in-house band, Kidville in The Woodlands is hosting an afternoon of play December 5 and live holiday music from 3:30 to 5 p.m. The event will start out with an hour of play in Kidville's fun-filled, multi-activity gym, followed by 30 minutes of all types of holiday music and cookies and punch. Where the Kidville band is involved, performing puppets are sure to join in the fun.

Kidville is asking all attendees for an unwrapped toy donation to benefit Children's Safe Harbor. Kidville owner and lifelong teacher Karen Roberts has volunteered at Children's Safe Harbor in Conroe and supports the organization's work in providing comfort to child victims of abuse while they undergo interviews and interventions following traumatic experiences.

"The generosity of this community toward traumatized children is an ongoing blessing," says Victoria Constance, executive director of Children's Safe Harbor. "Our numbers continue to grow and new toys and gifts during the holidays add that sparkle when a child has to come talk about abuse."

Donations of an unwrapped toy are welcomed for both girls and boys.

"They serve so many children there," Roberts says. "It's an absolutely wonderful non-profit and one that we are honored to support this holiday season."

Kidville in The Woodlands, located in the Cochran's Crossing Shopping Center, provides drama, music, dance, art, gym and pre-school classes with an emphasis on learning through play that is both creative and physically active. As with its classes, the event is geared for young children—from infants to age 6—and will foster safe, creative play in the gym and feature live music that adults and kids alike can enjoy.

"It will be a really fun time, all for the price of an unwrapped toy," Roberts says.
