SOUTH MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas - Montgomery County Precinct 3 and the Bayou Land Conservancy are partnering to remove debris and restore the trails on the Spring Creek Greenway following the impact of the recent floods. Any members of the community who would like to help with these efforts are welcome to do so, and signups are now being accepted for certain dates and locations.

Trail restoration days will take place in June, July, and August. The locations for the work days will be the George Mitchell Nature Preserve, Spring Creek Greenway Nature Center and Montgomery County Preserve.

Specific dates, times and locations for the work days are available on the Bayou Land Conservancy website, as is a link for volunteers to sign up. Questions about this project should be directed to Rosemary Rhodes, board member of the Bayou Land Conservancy, at rosemaryrhodes@rocketmail.com.

Although not an official Township function, the restoration of Spring Creek Greenway and its trails through The Woodlands is important to many residents in the community.

“Spring Creek is a crucial component of the natural beauty of our community. We applaud the efforts to help restore the trails along this area to the condition that so many residents and visitors have come to enjoy,” stated Township Assistant General Manager John Powers.
