Montgomery County Youth Services announce additions to board of directors

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Montgomery County Youth Services is pleased to announce that William D. “Bill” Malone, Shahid Ullah, and Ray Sanders have been named members of the MCYS Board of Directors.

“Our board is comprised of talented industry leaders who have given immense time to area non profits, including ours,” commented John Bracken, Chief Executive Officer at MCYS. “The breadth and depth of experience that Bill Malone, Shahid Ullah and Ray Sanders bring to our board is amazing and we are so honored to be able to benefit, as an organization, from their experience.”

William D. “Bill” Malone, Jr. serves as an Operations Executive for ExxonMobil, responsible for building the Operating Organization and Transfer to Operations for the 10,000 person Campus facilities, amenities and local community interface, developing new Operating Organization, Technology Systems, SMART Building Platforms/Integration, Client Transition to Campus and Construction Commissioning, Start-up and Hand-over per protocols. He also served in the military for 16 years - 4 active, 12 reserves in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, 101st Airborne - 3/17th Infantry, and 3 Corps Artillery - 299th Engineer BN.

Mr. Malone has also given time to the following community organizations: served on the Board of Directors for Community Family Center, Southeast Community Reinvestment Committee for New Hope Housing, Academic Advisory Council for the United States Military Academy, West Point, Advisory Board Member for the US Air Force Civil Engineer and is a member of the Greater Houston United Way - Alex d’Toucville Society.

Shahid Ullah is founder of Energy Eagles, an Advisory and Oil & Gas Investment firm in Houston, Texas. Prior to that, Mr. Ullah has over 32 years of experience in the international energy sector, investment banking, mergers and acquisitions, exploration and production and the service sector. Mr. Ullah has held senior management positions with many multinational companies in the U.S. and Europe.

Mr. Ullah currently serves on University of Texas’s Engineering Advisory Board and the Energy Institute Board. His philanthropical endeavors primarily benefit underserved communities and people. Establishments that have benefited, includes: University of Texas at Austin, endowments and minority scholarships in Petroleum Engineering, Liberal Arts, Human Ecology and Theatre and dance. Other organizations that have benefited from his support include, Interfaith of The Woodlands, Boy Scouts of America, “Teach for America”, and Volunteer Association of Bangladesh. He has also served as mentor to college and high school students.

Ray Sanders leads the Business Banking Group in Montgomery County for Woodforest National Bank. He is responsible for leading a team of relationship managers in working with existing business clients and building new business client relationships for companies to grow and expand their businesses.

During his 32 years in the banking industry, Ray has held many positions of leadership within Woodforest and in the community. He currently serves on The Board of Trustees for the Conroe Independent School District, Former Chairman of the Board for Interfaith of The Woodlands, and Board member for The Woodlands Area Economic Development Partnership. Ray has a bachelor’s degree in Finance and a MA in Counseling from Sam Houston State University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. He has taken additional coursework in real estate, accounting, auditing, economics and management. He has also been a lecturer for Sam Houston State University for more than six years, teaching Commercial Bank Lending, Financial Markets, and Financial Institutions. Financial literacy, education, economic empowerment and self-improvement are matters dear to him.

Ray enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, fishing and traveling with his wife of more than 34 years.
