Montgomery County Youth Services to host relief station at Memorial Hermann IRONMAN
THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Montgomery County Youth Services (MCYS) volunteers are once again hosting a relief station for this year’s Memorial Hermann IRONMAN.
MCYS is hosting “Bike Aid” station #5/9 offering refreshments. Athletes will roll by the station located on the Hardy Toll Road at Richey Road twice. Volunteers staffing the station this year are from National Charity League – The Woodlands Chapter and Sam Houston State University. All volunteer efforts during the race will benefit MCYS from the IRONMAN Foundation.
MCYS will also benefit from a $7,500.00 grant from the IRONMAN Foundation, along with a donation of 150 backpacks filled with healthy snacks and a note from a participating athlete.
Several Montgomery County nonprofit organizations will receive community grants during the IRONMAN Texas race week, including:
- Montgomery County Youth Services
- Interfaith of the Woodlands
- South County Football League
- Education for Tomorrow Alliance
- Boy Scouts of America Troop 491
- Meals on Wheels Montgomery County
- Montgomery County Amateur Radio Emergency Service
- Let Them Drum
