MCYS Yes to Youth Announces 2018 Officers for Board

Montgomery County Youth Services - Yes to Youth is pleased to announce that Gregory Freede, Rip Reynolds, Jacque Everson and Patti Rivela have been named officers of the MCYS Board of Directors.

Gregory Freede has been named Chair, Rip Reynolds will serve as Vice Chair, Jacque Everson has been named Treasurer and Patti Rivela will serve as Secretary.

“Our Board of Directors are vital in directing how our services are administered to youth in our community,” said Dannette Suding, Chief Executive Officer at MCYS. “We are honored that our Board members serve so passionately and we are very thankful to the newly elected officers who serve as leaders to our board and staff. They and the rest of our Board members are strong motivators, strategic thinkers, possess financial acumen and are persistent servant leaders.”

Gregory Freede, Chair of the Board has served as a Board member for two years, previously as Board Treasurer. He has also acted as the tournament director for the agency’s annual Woodlands Celebrity Golf Classic for over 20 years. He was honored with the MCYS Volunteer Bridge Builder Award and the Interfaith of The Woodlands Hometown Hero Award with his wife Linda Freede for their contributions to Montgomery County Youth. Greg and Linda were also honored at the MCYS Gala in 2016.

Mr. Freede retired in 2015 as a sales executive from Glaxo SmithKline after 29 years with the company. He has lived in The Woodlands since 1986.

Rip Reynolds is the 2018 Board Vice Chair. He has served on the Board of Directors since 2015 and held the office of Treasurer and Secretary. He has aided the organization on the following committees: Finance/Executive, Bridgeway 2 Fundraising/ Redevelopment, Corporate Office Relocation, and the CEO Search team.

Mr. Reynolds is the Director of Leasing and Commercial Land for the Howard Hughes Corporation. He handles commercial retail leasing and land transactions for The Woodland Development Company and Bridgeland, wholly owned subsidiaries of The Howard Hughes Corporation. He is a two-time finisher of IRONMAN Texas and lives in The Woodlands with his wife and two daughters.

Jacque Everson will serve as the Board’s Treasurer and has been a member of the Board for three years. A community leader, she has also served on many local boards as well as Foundation Chair for Delta Gamma International Fraternity. She was a volunteer for many MCYS events prior to committing to being a board member; one of her roles was chairing the Advancement Committee. She was honored as the Interfaith of The Woodlands Hometown Hero in 2008.

Mrs. Everson, a retired educator and business woman, she now serves as a community volunteer.

Patti Rivela has been named Board Secretary. She has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2011 and has been very active on the Yes to Youth Gala and Ladies Night Out committees for several years, co-chairing the Yes to Youth Gala in 2017. She and her husband, Dr. Lucian Rivela were honored at the 2015 gala for their commitment to youth. Patti regularly volunteers at the BridgeWay shelter.

Patti performs Marketing and Community Outreach for Rivela Plastic Surgery and lives in The Woodlands.
