MCYS receives $100,000 from Waste Connections Golf Classic

The Montgomery County Youth Services (MCYS) received a donation of $100,000 from the 2017 Waste Connections Golf Classic for Kids.

The 9th annual Waste Connections Golf Classic for Kids was held earlier this year at the Golf Trails of the Woodlands. Several area nonprofit organizations are the beneficiary of a portion of the proceeds from the event each year. Included this year, was the donation of $100,000.00 to MCYS.

“MCYS Funds will be used to continue to address the increased need for mental health services by youth in our community. This need has seen a drastic increase in the last few years” said MCYS Director of Development, Michelle O’Rourke. “We are grateful for community partners like Waste Connections who understand the importance of saving the homeless, neglected, abused youth through our shelter services and to provide mental health services to our youth and families through our counseling program. All services are available at no cost to our clients
