THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Entrepreneurial Studies course at The John Cooper School, an elective for juniors and seniors, held the highly anticipated Shark Tank – virtually this year - just before the winter break. The end-of-semester activity is based on the television show of the same name. The course work involved 23 students who worked in groups to create nine business ideas and plans to pitch to “sharks” to complete the course that is taught by Donielle Albrecht.

After watching pre-recorded pitches, “sharks,” met via Zoom with each of the nine groups to offer feedback about their business plans. For the first time, Alex Farley ‘15, who was once a student Shark Tank presenter, joined fellow alums Anna Merzi ’14 and Brandon Tyree ‘02 as “sharks,” along with Cooper parent Anna Marie Teague and fellow students Allen Aran ’21, Luciano Zecchi ‘21 and Rushika Prasad ‘22 to provide valuable insights to the budding entrepreneurs.

The John Cooper School is a pre-k through grade 12 independent college preparatory school. Virtual Admission Events are scheduled on January 19 for Lower School (PK-5), on January 20 for Upper School (9-12) and on January 21 for Middle School (6-8).
