HOUSTON, TX – St. Luke’s Health announces a new way for patients to quickly schedule COVID-19 vaccine appointments at all St. Luke’s Health vaccine sites beginning Monday, March 29. The new process moves toward vaccinating residents aged 16 and older as Texas enters next phase of vaccine rollout.

St. Luke’s Health announces new registration process and offers updates on vaccine locations

Adult patients and legal guardians of minors between 16 and 18 years old can schedule COVID-19 vaccine appointments using the chat feature on the St. Luke’s Health website. Members of the community interested in booking a COVID-19 vaccine appointment should go to stlukeshealth.org/CovidVaccine and look for the COVID-19 assistant chat feature in the bottom right corner of the page. When prompted, click on ‘Schedule Vaccine’ and answer a few brief pre-vaccination questions to directly schedule vaccination appointments online. Patients will be matched to the closest St. Luke’s Health vaccine site.

The new online registration tool replaces the previous process, which involved joining a waitlist and then being contacted to make an appointment once the person was eligible to receive the vaccine. The ability to now make appointment times available, bypasses a waitlist and allows people to schedule appointments several weeks in advance. All St. Luke’s Health clinics operate by appointment only to ensure the safe and orderly distribution of vaccine doses. People who were previously on the St. Luke’s Health waitlist and have not already been contacted to schedule a vaccine appointment, have been notified of the new process and the ability to use this direct scheduling feature. New appointment dates will be added daily, so individuals who cannot find an available time slot are encouraged to routinely check the site as more appointments are opened.

The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) requests that vaccine providers prioritize people 80 years old or older and other previously defined high-risk groups when scheduling appointments. As State-designated COVID-19 vaccine distribution hubs, Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center and St. Luke’s Health—The Woodlands Hospital encourage members of the community to schedule an appointment online to receive the COVID-19 vaccine at any of the following vaccination locations:

Woodforest Bank Stadium
19115 David Memorial Dr.
Shenandoah, TX 77385
*Drive-through site

Texas Southern University
Nabrit Science Center
3100 Cleburne St.
Houston, Texas 77004
*Walk-through site

Rice University
Bioscience Research Collaborative (BRC) Building
(formerly located at Rice Stadium)
6500 Main St.
Houston, TX 77030
*Walk-through site

To date, St. Luke’s Health facilities have administered more than 183,000 doses of the vaccine to individuals who meet the state’s guidelines for distribution. We urge the community to continue to follow CDC guidelines for the pandemic. Vaccines are just one tool in our toolkit to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Please remember to wash your hands regularly, always wear face coverings in public, and follow social distancing guidelines and government quarantine directives in your area.
