Lakes Edge Boat House now offering popular water bike rentals

THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Woodlands Township is adding water bikes as a new rental option to the Lakes Edge Boat House, just in time for Memorial Day weekend and the warm summer season ahead. The water bikes can be rented for $30 per hour and just $5 for each additional hour when additional time is purchased in advance.

Lakes Edge Boat House is located just south of Restaurant Row at 1970 Hughes Landing Blvd. These fun additions to Lake Woodlands will be available for reservation online at (www.lakesedgeboathouse.com or www.rivarowboathouse.com) and rentable whenever Lakes Edge Boat House is open, which is currently from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Monday (closed Tuesday) - with last boat departures at 7 p.m. during the summer months.

Water bikes are extremely stable when ridden properly, have a handy front basket for a bag or cell phone, cup holders for staying hydrated and offer a unique view on the lake. Rules for use of the water bikes include a single-person with a weight limit of 350 pounds; no glass, pets, or alcohol allowed; lifejackets must be worn at all times; and riders are asked to pedal only from a forward-facing, seated position to help maintain safety and balance.

Guests must be at least 16 years old to go out on a water bike by themselves, but ages 10 and up can use a water bike as long as an adult (18+) accompanies them in the water on another boat. All guests, regardless of age, must have a liability waiver signed by an adult before they can go out on the water.

Water bikes have been available at Riva Row Boat House since spring 2020, and have been in such demand they will now be offered at Lakes Edge Boat House in Hughes Landing for the first time. Water bikes will now join the single and tandem kayaks and stand-up paddleboard rentals at Lakes Edge year-round.
