THE WOODLANDS, TX -- On Sunday, October 31, 2021, at about 2:50 AM, Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a Shots Fired call at a residence on Red Cedar Circle in The Woodlands, Texas. While en route, Deputies learned a male was reportedly shot during an altercation, and the suspect left the location in a vehicle. Deputies located the suspect's car on S Panther Creek Drive where a pursuit ensued.

The suspect stopped and intentionally drove his car backward, ramming the front end of an MCSO patrol unit, rendering the Deputy’s car inoperable. The suspect fled in his vehicle to the Forest View Apartments located at 4545 S Panther Creek Drive in The Woodlands, where he is believed to live.

As Deputies approached the suspect’s apartment, the suspect exited and fired multiple rounds at Deputies. Deputies returned shots, and the suspect reentered the apartment. No Deputies were injured during the shooting, and it is unknown if the suspect was injured during the exchange of gunfire.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T. and C.N.T. arrived on scene and attempted to make contact with the suspect. After numerous unsuccessful attempts, the Sheriff’s Office deployed technological assets and confirmed the suspect was deceased in his apartment.

The investigation is still on going to determine the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s death. The suspect’s name will not be released until next of kin is notified.

The male who was shot at the original residence was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim, and we hope for a speedy recovery.
