THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Woodlands Online has been privileged for the last several years to partner with Steve Said, the owner of Dosey Doe Big Barn to help promote upcoming concerts at both the Dosey Doe Big Barn as well as the Dosey Doe Breakfast, BBQ & Whiskey Bar. Each location offers a unique opportunity to hear the best artists in the country while eating the most delicious food and drinks around. Steve recently treated the team at Woodlands Online to the Little Texas concert on December 10. It was an exciting and entertaining evening that reinforced the fact that Dosey Doe is one of the premier music venues in the country.

You can’t go wrong with the dining selections at Dosey Doe Big Barn. Their menu varies throughout the year and our team tried most of what they offered on Friday night. From mouthwatering BBQ ribs and the best gumbo in the area to one of the largest chicken fried steaks in town, aptly named the “Ginormous Chicken Fried Steak”. In addition to the delectable entrees, they offered delicious cookies and cream bread pudding and a triple chocolate pudding that will definitely become your favorite dessert. There were various drinks, including what has to be the best coffee in The Woodlands. Did we mention that Dosey Doe has their own coffee. Dosey Doe is known for their coffee. In fact, Dosey Doe started out as a coffee house. The coffee house turned into a preferred venue among many of the best artists in the world.

The staff at Dosey Doe Big Barn was beyond amazing. They were very attentive to everyone, never leaving anything undone. They took our orders quickly and made sure that we were treated well. We thought that this was some sort of special treatment just for our Woodlands Online team. It turns out that this type of treatment was just business as usual at Dosey Doe. Treating all of their attendees with the best service was one of the reasons why people love going to Dosey Doe concerts. They truly are among the best music venues in the country.

The concert itself was spectacular. The old tobacco barn that Steve had moved from Kentucky to The Woodlands is considered one of the most acoustically sound music venues anywhere. There wasn’t a bad seat in the house. Every seat was close to the artists and during some of the songs, the artists even came out and sang in the middle of the audience. We heard some of Little Texas’ biggest hits like “God Blessed Texas” and “Some Guys Have All The Love”.

If you love live music, do yourself a favor and purchase tickets to an upcoming concert at either Dosey Doe Big Barn or Dosey Doe Breakfast, BBQ & Whiskey Bar. You can’t go wrong with either location with the best music and food.

About Dosey Doe

This 165 year old historical structure has been saved for its current purpose. Originally built as a tobacco barn in Kentucky, the 300-600 year old growth oak and birch massive beams are the foundation not only for a beautiful room for also for great acoustics. It is a place where memories are made. No need to run from restaurant to music hall, as here you have it all.

Their entrees are 'cooked from scratch' based on the season, special offerings of purveyors with the type of music of the night in mind. Their task is to offer a meal that would be the reason in and of itself to visit Dosey Doe. The presentation is note worthy and the creations are featured in several Cook Books from Canada to Texas.

Nationally recognized artists from around the world dominate the calendar here: from Jerry Jeff Walker to The Rippingtons, Dave Mason to Lee Roy Parnell, Clint Black to Bela Fleck, Leon Russell to Spyro Gyra, Steve Wariner to Hayes Carll, Roger Creager to Mel Tillis, Manhattan Transfer to Gallagher... up very close and personal. Most artists will stay to have photos taken and give autographs after the show. Many very rarely do it anywhere but here and almost everyone says it is one of their favorite rooms to play.

'I have played them all, big and small, but I have never played a place that sounds as good as Dosey Doe!' - Gary P Nunn

'I will gladly tell anyone that Carnegie Hall cannot compete with Dosey Doe,' - Michael Martin Murphy

'One of my all time top 5 places to have played,' - Marcia Ball

Come early and enjoy the room. Filled with Americana artifacts from the late 1800s to the early 1900s, there is plenty to see. Your hands touching the hand-hewn 2000 lb barn beams, your eyes filled with art, artifacts, signage from a simpler time, your taste buds excited from salad to dessert, and music so pure - up close and personal... all designed to 'Take You Away' and create a memory you will keep.
