THE WOODLANDS, TX – It’s been warm this week for sure, but at least the sun was out to facilitate outdoor fun. This weekend, the rains will do their best to keep you indoors, but you might have to kick on the air conditioner to make it bearable.

Rains and high temps make for muggy weather that will put a damper on the holiday spirit

The total cloud coverage and light sprinkles of this morning are already dissipating and we’ll end up with some afternoon sun. The dropping pressure, high dew point, significant humidity, and high temp of 82 will make it one sweltering Friday afternoon and evening. Once the sun goes down, enjoy the sweet spot of relative coolness by heading over to Market Street for the annual performance of the Sarah Kelly School of Music.

Overnight we’ll actually get into the mid 60s for a low, but the clouds will return with a vengeance around midnight, and Saturday morning will dawn sunlessly with grey skies and a constantly rising chance of rain. Chances are, you’ll get wet by late afternoon as the rains turn to full-fledged thunderstorms, pushed in by moderate winds out of the southeast. However, with luck, this will be the last day this year with the high temperature in the 80s. Try to beat the rains by heading over early to the Howard Hughes Winter Wonderland at Creekside Park Village Green.

Overnight, the clouds will continue and the rains will increase, and Sunday will only get up to a high of 74. The ongoing thunderstorms will keep the smart shopper online and out of the mall, but as the day progresses the rains will dwindle behind the still-present clouds. Get the best of both worlds with the combo indoor/outdoor Christmas Celebration event at Deacon Baldy’s.

The pressure will continue to drop, so next week just might be a situation where the highs are equal to this week’s lows.
